A Lifelong Tomball & Cypress Neighbor
Lacey Derrington is a lifelong resident of the greater Tomball/Cypress area and a graduate of Cypress Falls High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health from the Texas A&M University Health Science Center.
Before devoting herself to her family, Lacey served as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she worked to protect the health and safety of patients, staff, and the community.

In addition to being a full-time homemaker, Lacey relocated abroad with her family to support her husband's career in Singapore, and following the family's return to the United States, worked in early childhood education and was a youth and family minister in Tomball.
A Family Rooted in Tomball ISD
The Derrington family moved to Tomball in 2020, primarily for the small-town feel and highly-rated schools. Lacey is married to Joe Derrington, Vice President and General Counsel for a global leader in the background screening industry. They have three children — Preston (16), Skyler (13), and Clark (8) — who all attend Tomball public schools. The family attends Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball.
Turning Tragedy Into Hope
Following the catastrophic flooding that struck Hunt, Texas and the Guadalupe River region over the July 4th, 2025 weekend, Lacey has spent the past year working alongside her daughter Skyler to raise funds and support for flood recovery — benefiting Hope for Hunt, the Hunt Preservation Society, the Kerrville Emotional Support Center, Kerrville ISD, and the Texas Music Project.
Skyler, a survivor of the flooding, honored her fellow campers by writing and performing her own rendition of “Hallelujah,” which she performed nationally on Fox & Friends — becoming the first-ever recipient of the Fox Nation Patriot Award in the Faith category.
Having spent the past year raising funds for Texas Hill Country charities and schools, Lacey wanted to bring that same energy home — to invest in the charities and schools of her own community of Tomball.
